THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS AT A GLANCE:
Impregnate new leather handbags before using them for the first time*.
Refresh the waterproofing every six to eight weeks.
Clean your leather bag before waterproofing.
Use leather care products sparingly so that no stains form.
If you are not wearing your leather handbag, it is best to store it in a cloth bag. The bag protects it from dust and sunlight.
*Please do not impregnate bags made of laminated leather with a glossy finish. Always check the different types of leather to see whether the material is suitable for treatment with waterproofing spray.
IMPRINTING
Is your handbag a faithful companion and always with you? Then you know that it is put to a real test in some situations. Moisture in particular leaves its mark on many types of leather. Suede leather in particular is sensitive to moisture. To prevent water stains from appearing on your LIEBESKIND BERLIN leather bag, we recommend waterproofing it immediately after purchase. To ensure long-lasting protection, you should refresh the waterproofing every six to eight weeks. Try our LIEBESKIND BERLIN impregnation spray. It is suitable for fine and grained smooth leather. Positive side effect: impregnation spray also protects against light soiling.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Before impregnating, you should clean your LIEBESKIND BERLIN leather bag gently (brush off in the case of suede and wipe with a cloth for smooth leather) so that the ingredients of the impregnation spray can take effect.
Spray your bag thinly from a distance of approx. 30 centimetres using even movements. The bag should not get too damp. Important: Only use the spray outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms.
Leave the impregnation to dry at room temperature for around 20 minutes.
Repeat the process two to three times to optimally protect your leather bag from moisture.

CLEANING
HOW TO GENTLY REMOVE SMALL BLEMISHES
Have you been caught in a rain shower with your leather bag or was your water bottle not properly closed? If the leather has become wet, you should avoid two things:
UV light: Sunlight accelerates the fading of leather.
Heat: Excessive heat can permanently deform the leather, making it porous and favouring the formation of cracks
OUR TIP: Fill your LIEBESKIND BERLIN bag with paper and let it air dry. If you want to clean your leather bag, it should be cleaned according to the type of leather. Regardless of the type of leather, the following applies: Avoid aggressive cleaning agents. They can affect the colour, damage the leather and dry it out. In the worst case, cracks can form.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF LEATHER
CLEANING SMOOTH LEATHER
It is best to remove light stains with a damp cloth. Instead of using tap water, we recommend using distilled water. As it contains no foreign substances, it does not form deposits. For heavier stains, use a gentle cleaning agent for leather. Pour the gentle cleaning agent onto a soft cloth and rub it into the bag. This will cause the dirt to dissolve by itself. A leather bag always requires extra care after cleaning, and a gentle care lotion is perfect for this.
CLEANING NAPPED LEATHER
Napped leather includes leather types with a buffed surface, as is the case for nubuck and suede. Due to the fuzzy surface, it is more sensitive than smooth leather and requires special care. It is therefore not advisable to clean these leathers with water and liquid cleaning products. They can be cleaned using a gentle care lotion that is suitable for napped leather. Small scuffs and water stains are best removed with a leather brush. To begin with, brush with the grain and then against the grain. This allows you to brush out any dirt and restore the nap. When cleaning napped leather, we use a gentle dry cleaning agent that is suitable for napped leather.
CLEANING LAMINATED LEATHER
The reflective leather is characterised by its special mirror foiling on the top layer of the cowhide. To prevent unsightly changes, care must be taken when handling, as the material is sensitive to scratches. Visible fingerprints can be easily removed. To clean and care for the bag, use a soft microfibre cloth and wipe it carefully. The material is not suitable for treatment with impregnation spray, as this can damage the special surface.
CLEANING NYLON AND CANVAS
It doesn't always have to be leather. Nylon and canvas handbags are visually appealing, too. Moreover, they are easy to clean. Nylon is durable and impervious to dirt. Bags made of this material are best cleaned with a sponge and mild soap. If you wish to clean a LIEBESKIND BERLIN handbag made of canvas or with canvas inserts, we recommend using a gentle cleaning agent that is also suitable for textiles.
