CLEANING AND CARING FOR BAGS

It is best to remove light stains with a damp cloth. Instead of using tap water, we recommend using distilled water. As it contains no foreign substances, it does not form deposits. For heavier stains, use a gentle cleaning agent for leather. Pour the gentle cleaning agent onto a soft cloth and rub it into the bag. This will cause the dirt to dissolve by itself. A leather bag always requires extra care after cleaning, and a gentle care lotion is perfect for this.

Napped leather includes leather types with a buffed surface, as is the case for nubuck and suede. Due to the fuzzy surface, it is more sensitive than smooth leather and requires special care. It is therefore not advisable to clean these leathers with water and liquid cleaning products. They can be cleaned using a gentle care lotion that is suitable for napped leather. Small scuffs and water stains are best removed with a leather brush. To begin with, brush with the grain and then against the grain. This allows you to brush out any dirt and restore the nap. When cleaning napped leather, we use a gentle dry cleaning agent that is suitable for napped leather.

This reflective leather is distinguished by a special mirror foil on the top layer of the cowhide. To prevent unsightly changes, it must be handled with care as the material is susceptible to scratching. Visible finger marks can be very easily removed. Simply use a microfibre cloth.

Due to its sealed surface, patent leather is waterproof and easy to clean. Dust and finger marks can be easily removed with a soft cotton cloth. If that doesn't help, you can also dampen the cloth slightly. Brushes and other abrasive cleaning aids should be avoided, however, as they can damage the patent layer and leave scratches. We also advise against using conventional care products. These tend to leave streaks or attack the surface and make the leather dull. For this reason, you should only use special cleaning and care products for patent leather. This also applies to waterproof sprays. Most products contain solvents that damage the patent leather. As patent leather absorbs dyes to some extent, you should store bags and shoes separately when you're not wearing them.

Our shearling bags require meticulous care. If stains appear, they can be easily removed with a brush or a slightly damp sponge. For a thorough clean, however, we recommend taking your bag to a shearling specialist.

To prevent liquid damage and stains, we recommend applying a waterproof spray. Please pay attention to the instructions on the product and keep the recommended distance during application. We also recommend carrying out a test on an inconspicuous part of the bag prior to cleaning or waterproofing.

It doesn't always have to be leather. Nylon and canvas handbags are visually appealing, too. Moreover, they are easy to clean. Nylon is durable and impervious to dirt. Bags made of this material are best cleaned with a sponge and mild soap.
