We are increasingly opting for recycled materials for our products and also our packaging. By doing this, we can keep valuable resources longer in the material cycle and use fewer raw materials. Recycled cotton, for example, comes from old clothing, domestic textiles or production waste. Recycled polyester can give new life to old PET bottles, amongst other things.

About our packaging: We want to avoid unnecessary packaging. By doing this, we save resources and avoid unnecessary waste. Where packaging is unavoidable, we want to design it so that it is continually sustainable. By increasing the use of FSC or FSC mix certified paper and recycled plastic, for example. In addition to this, we are working to constantly increase and improve the recyclability of our packaging.

But along with developing packaging that is as sustainable as possible, how it is actually disposed of is extremely important – and this is where you come in! Below, you will find further information about the right way to dispose of packaging components so that valuable resources can be reused.

IN GENERAL, ALWAYS FOLLOW THOSE PRINCIPLES:

Avoid it: Basically, unnecessary packaging should be avoided. When you visit us in-store, for example, think about whether you really need a bag.

Separate it: If you want to dispose of packaging, you should separate the various materials from each other. This is the only way to ensure it is disposed of properly and can be recycled, if necessary. It is also important that the individual packaging components are not too dirty and are as dry as possible so that they do not contaminate the recycle streams.

Inform yourself: Recycling is basically a local job. The recycling guidelines often differ between boroughs. For this reason, it is always best to ask your local waste disposal authority which is the best way to dispose of your packaging.

Share your knowledge: Sustainable action often begins with small steps that can ultimately have a tremendous impact. Share your knowledge with family and friends and help to promote a more responsible way of handling our resources.
